Thank you for supporting Independent Music.

The first full length in 6 years, The Glitter and the Glue is the first Chance recording to feature live drums and the first to be recorded at Supey Studio.

Written and recorded during perhaps the most emotional time of his life, the music from The Glitter and the Glue ventures into a new territory of lost loved ones and lost friends.

Ultimately, these songs speak to what matters most: gratitude over regret...hope over fear...love over hate.

This is the album I’ve been waiting for…! It was worth the wait.
I’m a fan of Chance since “The First Five Demos”. And I think his music is in continuous state of change.
I feel very strongly about that in this album. This new album is filled with “harmony”, “warmth” and “strength”.
Love all the songs on it. Thank you for your awesome music, Chance!!

i turned my son Kevin on to music at an early age, and as he grew older, he turned me on to GOOD music. That’s how i discovered Chance. This is his best album yet, incredibly robust sounding and lyrically beautiful. It strikes an emotional chord in me. I can almost hear my son singing and playing along with the album. A must have, for sure.

“The Glitter and the Glue” is a collection of songs that remind us the little things in life leave the biggest impact. Chance has put together an album with a perfect balance of simplicity and maturity that will continue to resonate long after the final track. A solid effort from a one of kind musician / person…this is an album to own!

From packaging to music this is a top-notch CD. The Deluxe edition’s extras are worth the price. Love the stamped box with individual lyric cards on heavy, glossy card stock. But aside from the quality outsides, the album’s innards (music) is phenomenal. Chance’s voice and musical chops have not aged a bit but the music and topics are mature and reflect his evolving life. Recordings are clear and well mixed (way better than a big biz bro’s label’s recent pop offering I purchased). Sounds great on ipod or home stereo. Bought it when it first came out and is still in heavy rotation.

I don’t know where to start with my love for Chance’s music. I’ve been a fan for about ten years, when I found his page through Myspace. His music, since then, has evolved in so many wonderful ways. Everything he puts out has a fresh sound, and honest lyrics. I’ve always loved how his songs tell a bit of a story, and this album – The Glitter and the Glue – is no exception! I’ve enjoyed listening to what he creates, and how his personal life shines through in what he sings of. His entire discography has become one of my favorite selections of go-to-tunes.
The Glitter and The Glue is also the most beautifully packaged piece of music I have ever received! I ordered the Deluxe edition, and have the song cards hanging above my record player, along with a lovely handwritten note from Chance.
His music has helped me through a lot in my own life, and I can’t wait for him to create more! Honestly cannot pick a favorite track on this album, as I really and truly love them all. You can tell he absolutely writes and plays from his heart, and it shines through in each track.
Thanks for making such awesome music, Chance! Job well done, yet again.

There’s something to be said for reliability. When Chance puts out new music, I know I can rely on the fact that it’s going to be something wonderful. As expected, this trend continues with The Glitter and the Glue. The album has all of the elements that made me fall in love with Chance’s music years ago: catchy choruses I can’t help singing along with, beautiful piano, poetic lyrics, well-placed hand claps, guitar solos so I can perfect my air guitar skills, and, of course, attention to the tiniest details in how the album is produced and packaged (the deluxe edition is gorgeous).

Reliability doesn’t mean predictability, however. Though The Glitter and the Glue has those recognizable elements of Chance’s musical style, it’s far from simply being a rehash of his previous albums. One of Chance’s greatest strengths as a musician is that his music is constantly growing and evolving. It’s clear that Chance poured his heart into the making of this album, his strongest work to date. The songs on this album have layers of complexity that mean that even after listening to it countless times, I find myself discovering new things I didn’t notice on previous listens. Sometimes it’s a time change that catches me off guard as I tap out the rhythm on my steering wheel. Other times it’s a lyric that I turn over and over in my head.

Always able to delight and surprise, The Glitter and the Glue is a perfect example of why I became, and will remain for years to come, a fan of Chance.
