| Cool Geek Art Notes This photo was taken under the Santa Monica Pier, here in California. Initially, I only had a very vague idea of what I wanted: A suit, an umbrella, and water or rain. So, I went to the beach, took some really boring shots and then saw the water crashing underneath the pier, and went oh, I think that's it. On the early shots the tide was somewhat of a sneaky butcher: it seemed calm and distant, and then all of a sudden it'd come rushing in like it was pissed off I even came down for a visit. As well, as we took shots, maybe the light was bad, or I'd have to run from the water to avoid (it finally got me on the 2nd to last shot). Hell, some of the best crashing waves shots were ones where I looked stupid or the umbrella didn't look right. Took probably 400 shots to get the right one. But it was a fun hour of shooting, and I ended up with something more interesting than I previously could have imagined. |
