...especially by the time we reach the year 2012. Research that in conjunction with solar flare activity ratings...some pretty scary shit huh? ... Now as for this song called, "Time Travel" by Chance and the Choir..."TIME TRAVEL" IS A VERY NICE SONG. Something that would be in all of our interest to learn how to achieve. It's only difficult IF you allow yourself to believe it is difficult. Take the word "can't" out of your vocabulary all together, and it will amaze you beyond belief, what we as humans are capable of... :>) By the way = Love the analog synth!!

"Time Travel" again is a really good release. Listening to it for the first time reminded me of some Jamiroquai tunes, just a bit slower and less "funky". There were also some elements in it that I couldn't assign to a particular artist.
Overall "Time Travel" shows again that Chance (and the choir :) ) are able to play almost every genre, and still stay distinguishable from every other artist.

Rob, you are so right! the diversity and depth of chance's music is what sets it aside from so many others...especially with those artists where you can't even make out the lyrics!
can't wait to add this song to my 'chance' collection!

When I first hit play on this, I'll admit the intro threw me a bit. It didn't sound anything like the last single. But then I realised that's one of the things that I love about Chance's music: it doesn't all sound the same, and nor should it.
With Time Travel, the music is a perfect fit for the lyrics: it's calm, just below being a full-on loud song, but also deep and assertive. I keep listening to it over and hearing new bits of the music that I hadn't noticed before, and new meanings for the words, and I'm sure I'll listen to it in a week and hear something else.
As far as meanings go, I'm inferring different things every few minutes. At the moment I think I'm seeing both the old lady and the young girl...
But this is what good songs should be: not just 3 or 4 minutes of audio that you play and discard, but something that sticks in your head. Not just for a catchy lyric, but for what it means. Even if you're not sure of that yet.

... and that precisely is what i love and (lovingly) hate about your songs...you can't just listen to them without them really making you think.
i feel like i can take these lyrics and apply them to my own life w/ meaning you may not have ever intended, but that's what is so impacting-- they have universal meanings-- depending on who is interpreting.
we all know what to do- what direction we want our lives to take, whether it be unconventional or idealistic. we can take that direction to follow what we think we want, meanwhile letting some part of life pass us by as we search for the picture in our mind we believe is perfect.
in this, there is conflict-- to follow what feels good in the moment or to chase the life we imagine will be the most satisfying.
the track speaks this. the pschedelic melody seems to exude dissonance, but in a very sane, calm way--if that makes any sense at all. nice, job- once again- that's why i stalk, because i like hearing your every next move!
